Puerto Maldonado: 3-Day Amazon Lodge Tour with Pool

Discover the Peruvian Amazon over 3 days while staying at a rainforest lodge with a swimming pool and freshly prepared meals. Explore the Amazon from different perspectives: travel along the Madre de Dios River, walk through the rainforest, paddle across Sandoval Lake, explore the canopy, discover the jungle at night, and visit a parrot clay lick at sunrise. Your guide accompanies you throughout the experience, from your arrival in Puerto Maldonado until your return to the city.

Your journey begins with a warm welcome in Puerto Maldonado. Our team meets you at the airport or bus station and assists you before continuing to the port. Board a boat for approximately one hour along the Madre de Dios River toward the rainforest. During the journey, your guide stays with you, helping you observe birds, vegetation, riverbanks, and the changing landscape as you leave the city behind.

Arrive at the rainforest lodge and receive a refreshing welcome drink made with local Amazonian fruits before settling into your accommodation. Enjoy a freshly prepared meal and take time to relax. Between activities, you can use the swimming pool and enjoy the peaceful rainforest surroundings.

In the afternoon, explore Monkey Island with your guide and look for monkeys and other wildlife. After sunset, experience the Amazon from the river during a guided nighttime boat excursion. With flashlights, search along the riverbanks for caimans and observe how the rainforest changes after dark.

On day 2, walk approximately 3 kilometers through the rainforest toward Sandoval Lake. Your guide makes stops along the trail to help you observe wildlife, plants, sounds, and signs of the forest. At the lake, board a paddle boat and move quietly across the water while looking for wildlife along the shores. With favorable conditions, you may spot giant river otters, caimans, birds, and other species.

Return to the lodge for a meal and free time to relax or enjoy the swimming pool. Later, experience the rainforest from above on the Canopy Walkway, with platforms approximately 30 meters above the ground. After dark, take a second nighttime experience, this time walking through the rainforest to look for insects, amphibians, reptiles, and other nocturnal species.

On your final morning, wake up early for a boat ride along the Madre de Dios River toward a parrot clay lick. Watch as parrots and other birds gather at the clay wall to consume minerals. Return to the lodge for breakfast before traveling back to Puerto Maldonado.

Throughout your stay, enjoy freshly prepared meals at the lodge. If you are vegetarian, let us know in advance so simple vegetarian meals can be prepared according to your needs. This excursion you can cancel with no cost up to 24 hours before the start of the trip. If you cancel it after 24 hours or not show up on the excursion you will still be charged the full price of the activity. Being late on pick-up or departure will be considered as not showing up.
