On this trip to the parrot and macaw clay lick of Chuncho, you will live one of the most incredible experiences that Puerto Maldonado has to offer, pure Peruvian nature awaits you!
We will pick you up at your hotel at 3:00 am and we will make a land transfer in a 4X4 vehicle for approximately 2 hours until we reach the banks of the Tambopata River. From there, we will take a boat that will take us on an introductory tour through the rainforest, where we will have the opportunity to observe various animals in their natural habitat, such as amphibians, mammals, reptiles and insects, among others. We will arrive at 4:30 am and begin the journey to the largest macaw clay lick in the world, the CHUNCHO COLLPA, in a boat ride of approximately 1:30 hours. During the trip, we will have the incredible opportunity to see species such as ronsocos, sachavacas and even the majestic jaguar, the most beautiful South American cat. Arriving at the clay lick, we will be able to observe hundreds of parrots of different species that come to eat clay from the walls near the river. Finally, we will return to Puerto Maldonado around 12:00 pm.
