Cusco: Chonta Canyon and Condor Flight Tour with Lunch

Embark on a full-day tour from Cusco to Chonta Canyon to witness the flight of the Andean condor. Explore the archaeological sites of Killarumiyoq and Tarawasi, and enjoy a delicious lunch.
Beginning of the Tour: 7:00 am approx

Begin your journey toward the majestic Chonta Canyon, known for offering one of the best spots to witness the flight of the condor in Peru. Your first stop will be the archaeo-astronomical site of Killarumiyoq, located in Anta. After exploring this fascinating site for about an hour, continue to the historical site of Tarawasi, near Limatambo.

This site is home to one of the few remaining Andean ceremonial platforms (Usno) used for rituals. After this visit, take a break for lunch before resuming your tour. After lunch, head toward the Huayronka Bridge, where a scenic detour takes you on an hour-long ascent through breathtaking Andean landscapes to the village of Chonta.

From here, the adventure continues with a 50-minute hike toward the three viewpoints in Chonta Canyon. At these lookout points, witness the majestic flight of the Andean condor as it soars across the canyon. Have around two hours to admire and photograph this incredible spectacle during the flight of the condor.

After the condor sightings, make your way back to the town of Chonta, where your transport will be waiting to take you back to Cusco. Arrive in Cusco around 7:00 PM, completing the Chonta Canyon tour.
