The snowy Mateo is located inside the Huascaran National Park, in the ultra gorge within the province of Carhuaz and belongs to the mountain system of the Nevado Contrahierbas.
Itinerary:
• We start this tour very early with pickup at your hotel at approximately 3:00 am.
• We will head towards the north of Huaraz to enter the town of Carhuaz and pass through the town of Shilla.
• We will also pass through the Huascarán National Park until we reach Punta Olímpica to begin our ascent.
• Arriving at the place we begin our walk until we reach the base of the glacier.
• With the guide's instructions we will put on the crampons and we will be ready to start climbing the mountain and reach the top.
• Once at the top, we will have beautiful panoramic views and observe the Nevado Contrahiervas and the Cancará lagoons.
• After some time in the Nevado, we will begin our descent following the same route until we reach the transport.
• We will culminate this adventure by returning to the city of Huaraz.

When should I book?
To guarantee availability book as soon as possible. Early booking is worth consideration especially if you planning the trip during high season like public holidays or weekends.
Cancellations
This excursion you can cancel with no cost up to 24 hours before the start of the trip. If you cancel it after 24 hours or not show up on the excursion you will still be charged the full price of the activity. Being late on pick-up or departure will be considered as not showing up.
