Description
A half-day tour to see the most notable places in the city of Cusco. Remarkable archaeological sites detailing the history of the Inca Empire.
Our tour, starting at 09:00, will first take us to the Convent of Santo Domingo - Qorikancha, a testimony to the contrast between Inca culture and Catholicism, and where we will appreciate the different construction methods of the time. Koricancha, with its impressive Inca construction, was a religious center dedicated mainly to the Sun God (Inti). Afterwards, we will board our tour bus to Sacsayhuamán, a majestic Inca site known for its enigmatic monoliths that can weigh up to 200 tons. Here you will have time to explore and learn more about this phenomenal site. Just 5 minutes by bus from Sacsayhuamán is Q'enqo, an intriguing Inca site with fascinating altars and believed to have been a ceremonial center for sacrifices. Next, we will visit Puca Pucará, a fortress that was part of the defensive complex of Cusco and the Inca Empire. Our last stop is Tambomachay, a temple dedicated to the cult of water, also known as the Royal Baths of the Inka, notable for its aqueducts, canals and waterfalls. Finally, we will return to Cusco, concluding the tour near the city center.
