Description

Shrouded by mist and surrounded by lush vegetation and steep escarpments, the sprawling Inca citadel of Machu Picchu lives up to every expectation.
It is a full day excursion from Cusco. Start with pickup from your Cusco hotel (I pick up only near the Main Square) and travel to Ollantaytambo station to board the train that will take you to Aguas Calientes. The views of the mountains during the train ride to Aguas Calientes are wonderful, then you will board a comfortable bus to Machu Picchu, upon arrival a guided group tour will begin (Group guided circuit 2, other circuit ask for additional).

Take a guided tour of the place that explains the origins of this imposing citadel and its most important places such as the great Main Plaza, the Royal Residence, the Temple of the Three Windows, the Circular Towers, the sacred Sundial and the cemetery (according to circuit). After the tour, you will return to Aguas Calientes where you will have free time to enjoy the complimentary lunch that was chosen with great care, the dishes are prepared with dedication and with the sole purpose of satisfying the palate of our clients, with a spectacular panoramic view. You will then spend time in the city, so that we finally board the return train at the Aguas Calientes station and arrive at Ollantaytambo, from where you will be taken back to Cusco.

It is recommended not to schedule activities and return flights on the same day that you take the excursion to Machu Picchu, since this excursion ends approximately between 8:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m.
Tickets to Machu Picchu are subject to availability. Send the full name, nationality, date of birth and passport number of each participant to the agency for issuance. After your ticket is issued, it is not allowed to change your personal details or the date of your visit.
For conservation reasons, the Ministry of Culture has established different circuits to visit Machu Picchu. You may be assigned Circuit 1 or Circuit 4 based on availability.
The activity is subject to changes and rescheduling due to natural or social events.

When should I book?

To guarantee availability book as soon as possible. Early booking is worth consideration especially if you planning the trip during high season like public holidays or weekends.


Cancellations

This excursion you can cancel with no cost up to 24 hours before the start of the trip. If you cancel it after 24 hours or not show up on the excursion you will still be charged the full price of the activity. Being late on pick-up or departure will be considered as not showing up.
