Description
We will visit the group of archaeological centers located south of the city of Cusco, we will be able to appreciate beautiful landscapes combined with Inca architecture and the charm of colonial art of the time.
This day, we will explore the South Valley (08:00 hrs approx), first, we will visit the archaeological site of Tipon where you can learn more about the hydraulic knowledge of the Incas. We will continue our tour to Pikillacta military center of ancient Peru of the Wari culture. Finally we will visit the Sistine Chapel of America of Andahuaylillas, it has a great amount of religious art works, finding works of the Cusquenian school of the XVII century. It has tempera murals on the walls and ceiling, altarpieces carved in wood covered with gold leaf will be back in the city of Cusco (Plaza San Francisco) at 15:30 hours approx.
