Enjoy a hike through unique places, full of mountain landscapes, lagoons, flora and fauna until you reach one of the wonders of the world Machu Picchu.
Day 1 : Cusco - Mollepata - Soraypampa
We will start our tour with the pick up from the hotel at 5:00 am and we will go to the village of Mollepata where we will have breakfast and introduce our team that will accompany us during the whole trek. We will move to Marqoq'asa where we will begin the hike to the viewpoint where we will observe 2 valleys (Mollepata Valley, Marqoq'asa) then we will continue the hike to Soraypampa where we will enjoy our lunch and then descend for 1 hour and 30 minutes to reach the Humantay Lagoon (4220 meters above sea level), then descend to Soraypampa, where we will rest.
Day 2: Suyroccocha camp to Challway
On our second day we will prepare all our equipment to continue our trek, where we will have amazing views, walk downhill with tamped stones, descend to a more accessible area of the rainforest at the top of Salkantay Mountain, experience a cloud forest and subtropical jungle day.
Day 3 : Challway to La Playa camp
This day our hike will last approximately 5 hours, it will be on a natural green trail that reaches the beach; most of the time we will be near the white river of Salkantay, on our way we will find a lot of wild strawberries (if it is the season). We will continue until we reach our camp which is in the settlement of the beach.
Day 4: Llactapata Pass to the town of Aguas Calientes
We leave the beach early to have a good walk to the last pass of the whole trip. Today we will follow the original Inca trail from Lucmabamba to the Llactapata pass, crossing the Santa Teresa Valley with a greater variety of landscapes. On arrival at the ruins of Pactallacta, we will have our first incredible views of Machu Picchu and the Andean mountains of the area, we will also explore the Inca site of Llactapata.
We will then begin our descent to Hidroeléctrica (2 hours approx). The hike is easy, you will enjoy a natural environment until you reach the village of Aguas Calientes.
Day 5: Machu Picchu Citadel
We will have breakfast and we will go to the bus station that will take us to the citadel of Machu Picchu, the journey takes approximately 30 minutes. Upon arrival at Machu Picchu we will have a guided tour, enjoy the place and take pictures, we will return to the town of Aguas Calientes to take the train that will take us back to the town of Ollantaytambo where we will take our transportation that will take us to the city of Cusco.
