Iquitos: 3-Day San Rafael Community Rainforest Tour

Embark on a 3-day immersive trip to the sustainable community of San Rafael in Iquitos. Go birdwatching with locals, learn about butterflies with a workshop, and trek through the protected rainforest.

The first day, we start with the reception at the Gran Caminata office, where your guide awaits you to transfer you to the port and embark together on fast boats to the Community of San Rafael, after about an hour you will be in the community, where the hosts await you, your guide will indicate the alternative of a walk around the community or rest until lunch, in the afternoon the Protection Forest is toured, returning you can enjoy a fresh shower and dinner waiting for you at home.
The second day we start with breakfast, and then move them to the Morphosapi farm, where you will learn about the cycle of butterflies in Amazon forests through the workshop with butterflies, we will return to our accommodation for lunch and in the afternoon we will take advantage of the hours to start with bird watching. They will have dinner and sleep in the house of the villager who hosts them.
On the third day, breakfast will be served very early, because it will be the time to observe birds throughout the morning, you will be able to see more than 30 different species of birds. We will return to the community for lunch and pack our backpacks for the return to Iquitos. Upon arrival at the port, we will be received by a Tuk tuk to leave us at the Gran Caminata Office.
