4-day tour: Madre de Dios-Incaterra Amazon Reserve

If you are looking for a different experience in the Amazon, Inkaterra's 4-day Ecological Reserve Tour is perfect for you, as it will take you out of your comfort zone and out of your routine.
Itinerary

Day 1:
- We will pick you up from your hotel in Puerto Maldonado. We can also meet you at the airport or bus station.

- We will then take a 45-minute boat ride to our hotel, located on the banks of the Madre de Dios River, very close to the Tambopata Nature Reserve.

- Upon arrival, you will settle into your cabin and we will begin to explore this fascinating natural environment, allowing science and nature lovers to enjoy a unique experience in the Peruvian Amazon.

- First, we will hike through the virgin rainforest trails surrounding the reserve. Giant tree roots, a variety of bird species, ants and mammals are the inhabitants of the Inkaterra ecological reserve.

- Then we return to the hotel and have lunch, then in the afternoon we go to the banks of the Madre de Dios River and take a boat ride in search of the fauna that lives in the darkness. Our guide will tell us all the curiosities of the natural world of this night. At the end of the day we return to the hotel for dinner.

Day 2

- We will have breakfast at the hotel before heading to the Inkaterra Canopy Walkway, a system of bridges designed specifically for scientific research, you will be able to observe the rainforest from the highest point as you reach the viewpoint.

- We then return to the reserve for lunch. Once we are fully loaded, we will take a boat trip around the island of Rio. On this trip we will appreciate the contrasts in the vegetation of the transition forest. The sands and wetlands are home to several species of birds, such as the Amazon sunbird.

- Later in the afternoon we return to the Inkatla Ecological Reserve for dinner and finally, at nightfall, we take a night walk to discover the strange species that live in the forest.

Day 3

- We will start with breakfast and continue exploring the biodiversity of the area. We will walk along the trails that surround the swampy forests called aguajales and visit biological gardens.

- Also, we will visit the biological garden, where we will have a detailed look at the tropical plants of the Amazon rainforest, in this garden you will learn about medicinal plants and ancestral medicine.

- Then we will explore the palm forest, a site dedicated to environmental restoration and conservation. Afterwards we will have a delicious lunch in the reserve.

- In the evening, we will go on a night tour to continue learning about the animal life.

Cancellation is not possible. If you cancel it anyway or not show up on the excursion you will still be charged the full price of the activity and the money you paid will not be refunded.
