Cusco: 3-Day Manu National Park and Amazon Fauna Tour

Embark on a 3-day adventure from Cusco to the Manu National Park and the Amazon Rainforest. Traverse lush jungle trails, sail down serene rivers, and encounter elusive creatures in their natural habitat.

Day 1:

Be picked up from your accommodation in Cusco and head to the Manu National Park. Stop at the Ninamarca Chullpas and take a brief visit to Paucartambo, a colonial bridge. Ascend to the high area of Paucartambo, the Acjanaco sector at 4000 meters above sea level, the entrance to the Manu National Park.

Descend through the mysterious cloud forest, home to a variety of flora and fauna, including beautiful orchids, heliconias, and primitive ferns. Take a walk to witness the Andean Cock-of-the-Rock in its mating ritual. Keep an eye out for trogons, quetzals, and with luck, the Andean bear.

In the afternoon, arrive in Pilcopata, a town 550 meters above sea level, and check into your typical lodge with private bathrooms and showers.

Day 2:

After breakfast, continue your journey by bus to Atalaya, where you will board a boat to the Paititi Lodge. On the way, observe a variety of animals. After a delicious lunch, head to the Machuwasi Lake, where you will ride on a typical catamaran to observe a variety of birds, monkeys, reptiles, caimans, and maybe some capybaras.

In the evening, take part in an optional night hike. Spend the night in a lodge with private bathrooms and showers.

Day 3:

Early in the morning, take a boat to the clay lick to see 3-4 species of green parrots. After breakfast, leave the boat to Atalaya and continue your journey by bus through Pilcopata, Patria, Chontachaca, and the cloud forest.

Return to Cusco.
