The Chuncho Clay Lick is an amazing place in the Amazon rainforest where parrots and macaws congregate to feed on clay. This unique experience allows visitors to witness the beauty and diversity of these birds in their natural habitat.
Iitneary
We will begin our beautiful tour by picking you up at your hotel at approximately 3:00 am.
We will start our journey towards the Tambopata River, from where we will embark on a boat to go into the Tambopata National Reserve.
We will contemplate the beautiful sunrise watching the first rays of the sun fall on the banks of the tranquil river.
We will arrive to the Chucho clay lick and after a few minutes we will see how parrots and macaws of different colors come in search of clay.
After this great spectacle, we will go to a lodge in the reserve, we will walk through trails and with a little luck we can observe the magnificent sloths, and perhaps other mammals such as capybaras or deer.
Once at the lodge, we will enjoy a delicious lunch, as well as a walk through the surrounding area, observing the vegetation.
Finally, we will return to Puerto Maldonado and drop you off at your hotel at approximately 15:00. Concluding this beautiful experience in the Amazon rainforest.
