Explore the Amazon Rainforest on a 2-day tour from Puerto Maldonado. Stay in a jungle lodge, go on a night safari, and visit a clay lick to see macaws.
Day 1:
Be picked up from the meeting point and head to the boat dock. Board a boat and cruise along the Madre de Dios River to the jungle lodge. Upon arrival, enjoy a local lunch.
Embark on a guided walk through the primary and secondary rainforest. Finish the walk at night, when you can observe the nocturnal flora and fauna of the Amazon. Go on a night safari to see caimans.
Day 2:
Wake up at 3:00 AM and board a boat to the largest macaw clay lick in the region, "Chunchos." On the way, observe the diverse flora and fauna of the area. Arrive at the clay lick and see hundreds of parrots of different species coming to eat clay.
Return to the lodge to rest and then go kayaking. Return to the lodge to pack your things and say goodbye to the jungle. Head back to Puerto Maldonado.
