On this two-day excursion to the Amantani and Taquile Islands, you will enjoy an authentic and unique experience on Lake Titicaca.
DAY 1: Puno - Uros - Amantani
8:00 AM - Uros Floating Islands
After being picked up at the hotel and taken to the port of Puno, we will begin our journey to Amantani. The first stop will be at the floating islands of the Uros, where the inhabitants will share with us their way of life. These islands are created by the Uros using Totora reeds, to which they add new layers every 20 days to keep them afloat.
Upon arrival in Amantani, we will be greeted by the locals, who will escort us to our homes. We will enjoy lunch with an island family, and then participate in their daily activities, learning more about their culture and traditions.
We will take a short hike to the highest point of the island, crossing fields. From the top, you can see the hill where rituals are performed in honor of Mother Earth. In addition, the “Pachatata” viewpoint offers a spectacular view of Lake Titicaca and its islands, especially at sunset.
Dinner will be served at our host family's home, followed by a typical celebration called “peña”, with traditional music and dances to commemorate our arrival. After the festivity, we will spend the night in Amantani.
DAY 2: Amantani - Taquile - Puno
After breakfast, we will depart to Taquile Island, where we will walk up to the main village. During the tour, we will enjoy panoramic views and see agricultural terraces. Upon arrival, we will learn about traditional sheep wool processing techniques, as well as the art of weaving and spinning.
Lunch will be served at a local restaurant in Taquile. Afterwards, we will return to Puno, where we will arrive around 4:00 PM. The tour will conclude with a minibus transfer to our hotel.

Cancellations
This excursion you can cancel with no cost up to 24 hours before the start of the trip. If you cancel it after 24 hours or not show up on the excursion you will still be charged the full price of the activity. Being late on pick-up or departure will be considered as not showing up.
