Sun island and Copacabana | From Puno or La Paz / Day Trip From Puno to Puno

Visit the Isla del Sol and see its magnificent gardens from the Inca era, an Inca fountain of youth and terraces that await your exploration.
This full-day tour begins with a pick-up from your hotel in Puno or La Paz at 6:00 AM. Afterward, you’ll embark on a scenic 3.5-hour bus ride, covering 151 km, towards the charming town of Copacabana. The journey offers breathtaking views of Lake Titicaca and the towering Cordillera Real mountain range. Upon arrival at the Copacabana Peninsula around 10:30 AM, you will be greeted by your guide and head to the Sanctuary of the Virgen Morena, an important pilgrimage site. Next, you will visit the Chapel of Candles before boarding a boat for the 1-hour journey to Isla del Sol at 12:00 PM.

Upon arrival on Isla del Sol, around 1:00 PM, you’ll explore the Southern Zone of the island. Key sites include the Inca Garden, the Fountain of Youth, and the Pilkocaina Temple, which are all rich in Inca history and culture. After taking in the stunning sights, you’ll return by boat to Copacabana at 3:00 PM, and from there, board the bus for the return trip to Puno or La Paz at 4:00 PM. The day ends with an estimated arrival back at your hotel around 8:30 PM.
