Description
Explore the historic streets and hidden gems of Conwy on a guided walking tour. See the town walls, Plas Mawr, the Smallest House in Great Britain, and Aberconwy House.
Step into Conwy’s story on a guided walking tour through one of North Wales’ most atmospheric medieval towns. Stroll the historic streets and lanes with an experienced local guide and uncover the details you’d likely miss on your own—from defensive walls to remarkable homes that chart Conwy’s past.
Meet outside the Conwy Tourist Information Office and set off at a relaxed pace through the town centre. Along the way, your guide will point out key landmarks and hidden corners, sharing context about Conwy’s role on the North Wales coast and how the town evolved over centuries.
From there, we will take a look at how and why the town was constructed, as well as the English-Welsh
relationship at that time. As we journey on, we will take in popular attractions such as Plas
Mawr: claimed as the best example of an Elizabethan mansion house in the United
Kingdom. Moving around the town, we will experience Aberconwy House: the
oldest domestic dwelling in Wales, as well the smallest house in Great Britain. On our way to
finish our tour at St Mary’s Church, we will take a visit to the famous bridges designed and constructed
by the great Thomas Telford and Robert Stephenson. Of course, we will also pass by one
of the most impressive medieval fortress built in the 13th century – Conwy Castle!
After about an hour, the tour wraps up back in town—leaving you perfectly placed to continue exploring Conwy independently, revisit your favourite sights, or head to a café for a well-earned break.
