Description

Explore Scotland’s rugged coast on a guided seatrek with snorkeling and wild swimming, towing a drybag as you reach secluded beaches for a remote lunch break.
Discover the west coast of Scotland from a sea-level perspective on a guided seatrekking day trip from Fort William. Blending light coasteering with snorkeling and wild swimming, you’ll travel along the coastline through the intertidal zone—swimming, scrambling, and walking between rocky outcrops, sheltered coves, and quiet sandy stretches. You’ll tow a floating, watertight seatrekking bag so your spare layers, food, and essentials stay protected while you move through the water.

Begin by meeting your guide at Banavie Locks Car Park, where you’ll be fitted with your equipment, including a wetsuit, mask, snorkel, fins, and drybags. After an introduction and safety briefing, you’ll transfer to the day’s start point and walk in to the entry location. Once changed into your kit and with your bag packed, you’ll enter the intertidal zone and follow a route chosen for the conditions, combining short swims with shoreline travel and close-up exploration of the marine environment.

Midway through, pause for a break to refuel—often on a secluded beach or, conditions permitting, a small island—before continuing the route back toward the exit point. Finish by changing into dry clothes, repacking your gear, and walking back to the vehicle for the return to Fort William, with photos and videos of your experience provided after the trip.
