Mount Muhabura Hike in Volcanoes National Park

Mount Muhabura is one of the Most Scenic Volcano hikes in the Virunga range, standing at about 4,127 meters. at the summit, hikers are rewarded with stunning crater lake and panoramic Views.
Early Morning at 4:30am, Your driver guide will pick you up from your Hotel/Airport in Kigali and transfer to Volcanoes National Park Office in Kinigi. The drive will take about 2.5 hours, passing through the beauty Landscape of Rwanda where you will know why Rwanda refereed as "The Land of Thousand Hills".

Upon arrival at the park Office, you will take the briefing about Hiking by the park's Guide.
At around 8:00 AM, the hike begins from the trailhead at the base of the volcano. The first section passes through dense bamboo forest, gradually transitioning into montane forest and then into open alpine vegetation as you gain altitude. Along the way, you will have short rest stops to hydrate, take photos, and enjoy the stunning scenery.

As you ascend higher, you’ll be rewarded with spectacular views of the Virunga volcano chain, including Mount Gahinga and Mount Sabyinyo. The landscape becomes more dramatic, with volcanic rock and high-altitude plants dominating the terrain.
After approximately 5-6 hours of hiking, you reach the summit at 4,127 meters. At the top, a beautiful crater lake awaits, often surrounded by mist, creating a unique and unforgettable atmosphere. You will have time to rest, take photos, have your packed Lunch and enjoy panoramic views stretching across Rwanda and Uganda.

After the summit experience, you begin your descent around afternoon. Thereafter you will Return Back to Kigali for your Flight/Hotel.

This excursion you can cancel with no cost up to 24 hours before the start of the trip. If you cancel it after 24 hours or not show up on the excursion you will still be charged the full price of the activity. Being late on pick-up or departure will be considered as not showing up.
