Day 1: Kigali City Tour & Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
After your breakfast at your hotel, embark on a Kigali City Tour, visit Kigali Genocide Memorial, A site dedicated to the victims of the 1994 Rwandan genocide.
Visit the Belgian Peacekeepers Memorial a tribute to Belgian soldiers who lost their lives during the Rwandan crisis.
After the city tour drive to Volcanoes National Park, a lush area in northern Rwanda famous for its volcanic landscapes and primate trekking.

Day 2: Golden Monkey Tracking & Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park
Early morning trek in Volcanoes National Park to observe the endangered golden monkeys in their natural habitat. The trek offers spectacular views of the Virunga volcanic mountains and the chance to see playful, colorful monkeys.
After the trek, drive approximately 4 hours to Nyungwe Forest National Park, a vast rainforest known for its biodiversity, including chimpanzees, colobus monkeys, and hundreds of bird species.

Day 3: Chimpanzee Tracking & Canopy Walk in Nyungwe Forest
Embark on a morning 3-4 Hour trek in Nyungwe to observe chimpanzees in their natural environment.
In the afternoon, experience Nyungwe’s famous canopy walk—a 90-meter-long suspension bridge above the forest floor, offering stunning aerial views of the rainforest and its wildlife.

Day 4: Transfer to Akagera National Park
Travel east towards Akagera National Park, approximately a 6-hour drive.

Day 5: Full-Day Game Drive in Akagera National Park
Spend the full day exploring Akagera, a savannah and wetland park home to the Big Five (lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, rhino) and abundant birdlife. Enjoy boat safaris on Lake Ihema for hippos and crocodiles, and spot giraffes, zebras, and antelopes across the savannah.

Day 6: Transfer to Gitega, Burundi via Tanzania
Drive to Gitega-Burundi, crossing two borders (Rwanda-Tanzania, Tanzania-Burundi), approximately 8 hours including border formalities. Enjoy scenic landscapes of Tanzanian countryside.

Day 7: Gishora Drum Sanctuary & Batwa Cultural Experience
Visit this historic site to witness traditional Burundian drumming, a UNESCO-recognized cultural heritage that plays an important role in Burundi’s history and ceremonies.
Engage with the Batwa community to learn about their traditional forest-based lifestyle, crafts, and cultural practices. This is an immersive cultural experience offering insight into one of Burundi’s indigenous groups.
After the experiences, drive to Bujumbura, the largest city and former capital of Burundi.

Day 8: Bujumbura City Tour & Departure
Explore the city’s highlights including markets, the lively waterfront, and local cultural sites.
Transfer to Bujumbura Airport for onward travel.
