Description
Relax in the mineral-rich waters of the Santa Teresa Hot Springs, savor the flavors of the highlands with a tasting of seasonal fruits, and explore the vibrant town of Concepción de Ataco.
Begin your journey with a convenient 10:00 AM departure from Nuevo Cuscatlán’s premier hub. Before heading out, take a few minutes to grab any last-minute essentials—like sunscreen or snacks—at the on-site shops, ensuring you’re fully prepared for the day ahead.
Stop in the "Yucca Capital" for an authentic culinary ritual. Sample traditional yucca con chicharrón and a selection of seasonal highland fruits—tasting whatever is freshest that morning, from tart Jocote Corona to sweet Zapote. Pair these with a locally roasted artisanal coffee while soaking in the energy of this historic town.
Climb to the highest point of your route (1,500m / 4,900ft) for a literal breath of fresh air. At a private roadside viewpoint, witness the "Aura"—the dramatic mountain mist that rolls across the volcanic chain. Enjoy a local Semita pastry while taking in expansive views that stretch to the horizon.
Next, head to the Santa Teresa Hot Springs. Submerge in mineral-rich thermal pools of varying temperatures. Included in your entry is access to the therapeutic volcanic mud baths and natural mineral face masks (subject to the spa's normal operations). Optional professional massages are available on-site for those seeking the ultimate reset.
Finally, explore the "Clay" of the region through world-famous street murals and artisanal workshops. Discover handmade pottery and textiles before finishing the day with a relaxed Sunday dinner at a premier local restaurant.
