Description
In this experience, you will discover Salvadoran cuisine from its roots: pupusas freshly made on a clay griddle, a stroll through the surf culture of the coast, and a seafood lunch by the sea.
We will spend the first hour at your hotel in San Salvador. The tour guide will welcome you by telling the story of mayo and pupusas, symbols of Salvadoran cuisine.
Our first stop will be at a local market or traditional pupuseria in La Libertad. Here you will learn about the most representative ingredients—mayo, beans, loroco, and fresh cheese.
While you taste freshly made pupusas accompanied by curtido, homemade salsa, and a typical drink such as corn atol or a natural soft drink.
Then we will head towards the coast. On the way, we will make a panoramic stop to take in the viewpoints and the landscape that connects the fertile valley with the ocean.
We will arrive at the iconic town of El Tunco, famous for its volcanic rock, its surfing atmosphere, and its cosmopolitan energy. You will have time to explore its streets and walk along the volcanic beach.
The experience continues with a gourmet meal by the sea: a local chef will show you how to prepare fresh ceviche with fish or shrimp, which you can then taste.
At noon, we will enjoy a typical lunch by the ocean: fried fish, ceviche, or a vegetarian dish, accompanied by rice, salad, and fried dishes. An ideal moment to relax with the Pacific breeze.
In the afternoon, you will have free time on the beach at El Tunco or El Zonte. You can dance, explore the sand, or join in optional activities such as surfing, kayaking, paddle boarding, or simply relax.
Before returning, we will make a brief stop to enjoy a cup of artisanal coffee or hot chocolate with spices, learning about the tradition of cocoa and coffee in El Salvador.
Finally, we will make our way back to San Salvador, arriving at your hotel between 4:30 p.m. and 6:00 p.m., with memories full of flavors, sea, and culture.
