A peaceful alpine hike through incredible mountain scenery, leading to the cozy and remote Rotstock Hut situated at the foot of the Schilthorn. Enjoy a scenic picnic with Swiss specialties.
This alpine hike with 2 Feet Adventures starts in the car-free village of Mürren, high above the Lauterbrunnen Valley. From here, we head straight into the mountains, following a trail through open farmland beneath impressive rock walls, with wide views of the surrounding peaks.
Along the way, we pass traditional farms, wildflowers, waterfalls, and the constant sound of cowbells. The trail gets steep at times, so a good level of fitness is important, but we keep a steady, enjoyable pace.
Our goal is the Rotstock Hut, located at the foot of the Schilthorn. It’s the perfect place to take a break, have a drink, and enjoy being surrounded by the mountains.
On the way back, we take a different trail down to Gimmelwald, a small farming village with around 100 residents that still feels very authentic. From there, we take the gondola down to the valley and the bus back to Lauterbrunnen.

We will meet in Lauterbrunnen, in the Lauterbrunnen - Grutschalp gondola station, which is right across the Lauterbrunnen train station.

When should I book?
To guarantee availability book as soon as possible. Early booking is worth consideration especially if you planning the trip during high season like public holidays or weekends.
Cancellations
This excursion you can cancel with no cost up to 24 hours before the start of the trip. If you cancel it after 24 hours or not show up on the excursion you will still be charged the full price of the activity. Being late on pick-up or departure will be considered as not showing up.
