Barcelona: Private Tour Castles, Salt, Montserrat and Wines

Join this historical, cultural and gastronomic experience! From Barcelona discover the Castle of Cardona, delve into the depths of the Salt Mine and the exquisite wines of the region.

We will start our tour at Cardona Castle, exploring the modern fortress and the parts of the old county castle. We will visit the Minyona Tower and the collegiate church of San Vicente, a treasure of the Catalan Lombard Romanesque. This visit, lasting approximately 1 hour, will allow us to discover one of the best preserved medieval ensembles in Spain, famous for its resistance during the War of Succession in 1714 and Napoleon's attacks.

Next, we will explore the historic Salt Mountain mine with more than 1000 years of history, now converted into the Salt Mountain Cultural Park. The visit begins in the open-air museum area, in the old extraction shaft 'Maria Teresa'. We will learn about the history of the industrial exploitation of the valley and then take a guided tour inside Salt Mountain, exploring the galleries with their colorful folds and veins.

On the way to Montserrat Mountain, we will stop for a wine tasting in the Bages region. The wines of the region are generally not present in the international lists, but they have wines of great quality. We will visit a winery, with the possibility of a BRUNCH among the vineyards.

In the afternoon we continue to Montserrat to explore its historic monastery, founded in the 11th century and home to the Virgin of Montserrat, "La Moreneta". From its 720 meters above sea level, it offers exceptional panoramic views. We will visit the Basilica, noted for its 12-meter organ and more than 4,200 pipes, and explore the Museum of Montserrat, with works by El Greco, Miró, Dalí, Tápies, Picasso and an archaeological collection with pieces from Egypt and Mesopotamia.

We will take the Sant Joan Funicular to enjoy panoramic views of the monastery and all of Catalonia.
Finally return to Barcelona.
