Description
Discover the flavors of Georgia on a guided tour from Tbilisi. Visit a village with unique Mtsvane vineyards, take part in a churchkhela-making masterclass, and taste 5 types of wine.
Begin your tour in Manavi, a village known for its unique Mtsvane vineyards. Take part in a churchkhela-making masterclass and taste 5 types of wine: Rkatsiteli, Kindzmarauli, Saperavi, Kisi, and rosé (made from rose petals). Sample chacha, cognac, mulled wine, fruit leather, and honey.
Next, head to Badiauri, a village where traditional Georgian lavash is baked in a wood-fired oven. Watch the process and take part if you’d like. Taste two types of local farmhouse cheese.
Continue to Bodbe Monastery, a convent where Saint Nino is buried and where a miraculous icon of the Mother of Christ is kept. Stroll through the picturesque grounds overlooking the Alazani Valley.
Then, head to Sighnaghi, the “City of Love.” Walk along the longest fortress wall in Europe, enjoy views of the town and the Caucasus Mountains, and try a zipline across the Sighnaghi gorge.
Finally, visit Telavi, the capital of Kakheti. Take photos at the palace of King Erekle II, hug a 900-year-old plane tree, and make a wish beside it.
