Description
Discover the secrets of Sacatepéquez cuisine by preparing exclusive home recipes, complemented by a textile art display and a welcome drink made with fresh homemade ingredients.
Delve into the culinary secrets of Guatemala in a totally intimate, exclusive experience full of mysticism. This workshop was created with the desire to share with you the most traditional and homely cuisine, bringing back unique recipes from Sacatepéquez that have been lovingly passed down from generation to generation and are rarely found on commercial menus. On arrival, we'll welcome you with a short introduction to our wonderful textile heritage, allowing you to appreciate up close the art of traditional weaving that gives color to our identity. Then, we'll enjoy the cozy atmosphere of the house while we prepare a refreshing and natural welcome drink together using local and seasonal ingredients, connecting from the first moment with the warmth of the home. Once in the kitchen, surrounded by nostalgic aromas, we'll prepare a very special menu based on family tradition. Together, we'll prepare from scratch the comforting Quichón, steeped in history, and the traditional Sopa de Soldadito. What's more, we'll reveal the secret of authentic Ticucos de Sacatepéquez made directly on the comal, a golden treat full of childhood memories. During the workshop, you'll also learn the beautiful art of making your own traditional corn tortillas over the fire. To bring this cultural immersion to a grand finale, we'll enjoy a mystical sweet potato dessert patiently cooked over the coals, a combination of smoky and sweet flavors that will awaken your senses. This is an open invitation to sit at our family's table and savor the living history of Guatemala.
