Description

Cádiz after dark: narrow alleys, the undecayed girl of the cathedral, cursed pirates, a face in the mirror. Legends and true catastrophes – from the alleys to the sea at night
Cádiz is over 3,000 years old – and no city accumulates only beautiful stories during this time. On this evening walking tour in a small group (max. 5 people), I will take you to the places where legend, catastrophe, and superstition have left their mark.

We start at dusk in Plaza San Juan de Dios and immerse ourselves in the medieval El Pópulo with its narrowest streets, where Roman and Phoenician subsoil lies beneath your feet. We stand at night in front of the cathedral, whose silhouette carries its own dark legends, and follow the old watchtowers of the merchants. You will hear the tragic-romantic story of the Casa del Pirata – gold, shipwreck, and revenge – and the real catastrophe of 1755, when a tsunami hit the city.

At the end, the sky opens up over the sea: At the Alameda Apodaca, I will tell you about the Casa de los Espejos, the admiral, and the face in the mirror – the supernatural highlight of the evening.

Where legend meets documented history, I'll tell you what is confirmed and what the city tells itself. This is exactly what brings these places to life.
