Description

Enjoy overnight accommodation, breakfast, and round-trip transportation on this guided adventure to Nuwara Eliya. Visit a tea plantation, Gregory Lake, and the Horton Plains National Park.
Venture through the central hills of Nuwara Eliya, including visits to the Spice Garden, Pedro Tea Factory, Lake Gregory, and Horton Plains National Park, entry tickets included. Enjoy an overnight stay and breakfast at a 3-star Nuwara Eliya hotel.
Day 1After pickup from your accommodation or airport, make your way to Nuwara Eliya. En-route, visit the Spice Garden, then step into the heart of the tea industry during a visit to a tea factory and plantation.
On your way, you’ll see acres of greenery, tea plantations all around, and tea pluckers hard at work on the slopes in their colorful saris. During your visit to the tea plantation, enter the tea factory and get a glimpse into the manufacturing of Ceylon tea.
In the evening, explore the city. The town of Nuwara Eliya enjoys spring-like weather throughout the year and was a favorite retreat of the British during colonial times. You’ll see the town streets are dotted with English country-style houses and half-timbered bungalows.
Follow your guide to the oasis of Victoria Park, a popular spot amongst birdwatchers at quieter times because of the ample opportunities to see various species. Stop at Gregory Lake, which was constructed during the period of British Governor Sir William Gregory in 1873.
After your city tour, stay overnight at a 3-star Nuwara Eliya hotel on a bed and breakfast basis.
Day 2Make a pre-dawn start, grab a packed breakfast from the hotel, and proceed to Horton Plains National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Upon arrival, join a guided walk along the nature trails to a viewpoint known as World’s End.
See a variety of wildlife, including the endemic rhino-horned and hump-nosed lizards and highland bird species including the Sri Lanka white-eye, dull-blue flycatcher, Sri Lanka bush warbler, yellow-eared bulbul, and more. As you explore, keep an eye out for troops of bear monkeys and sambars (Sri Lanka’s largest species of deer), which are regularly seen on the plains close to the entrance. At the conclusion of your second day, head back to your pickup location for drop-off.
