Description

This is a great way to see some of the more interesting areas in Denver. We will visit the murals in Rino and other scenic spots like Larimar Square, Union Station, the Capital and the dairy block.
We will start our tour in 5 points and (Rino) River North Art District, which features a variety of breweries and art galleries in revamped industrial building covered in dozens of beautiful murals. We can make a quick stop at the the Central market, before moving on.

We will head about 10 minutes to pass by Coors Field where the Major League Baseball's Colorado Rockies play and a nice spot for a quick pic.

A couple blocks from there is the Dairy block and alley which is home to dozens of restaurants, bars and retailers, along with a modern co-working space. We can take a stop for any shopping or snacks here.

Just around the corner is Union station which was preserved and revitalized in 2014 as a shopping, dining, and cultural destination. People can take a quick tour of the beautiful interior of this special historical landmark.

We will then head over millennium bridge to where the Platte and Cherry Creek river converge which is also home to the largest Rei located in a restored 1901 Denver Tramway building. This is close to where Denver was founded and was where many natives resided before settlers came.

We will bike down the Cherry Creek path for about 15 minutes before going over to Larimer Square, the city’s first block, its first commercial district, home to its first residence and first city hall, and was the city’s first designated historic district. Here there are several restaurants, stores and a cool Vintage store that's worth a stop.

We will then head down past the Denver performance art center, the opera house and the convention center which has the 40 foot Big Blue Bear gazing into the convention center.

We will then stop to take a view of City Hall and across from civic center park you get a great view of the Colorado State Capitol Building which has a gold covered dome. If its a weekday we can visit the interior of the Capital which has a rare Rose Onyx, stained glass, depicting people and events related to the history of Colorado. You can also see the various chambers where debates, voting and other legislative events occur.

From there we will bike thru Cheeseman Park, which was once Prospect Hill Cemetery. In the late 1800's the city wanted a new park as residents expanded outward, so they encouraged and paid people to move their loved ones, but most remained. They paid E.P. McGovern to remove the remains but he was cheating by using a few bones for each casket so he was fired and most remained.

From Cheeseman park we thru the quiet streets of city park area and Whittier to where we began in 5 points which was once the Harlem of West.

We know the best and safest ways to explore Denver. If your looking for a short tour to see the most then this is a great option.
