Bern Food Market: Tour w/o Brunch

Did it ever bug you that you could not try all the food on a foreign food market? Not it Bern! Join, try and explore what our market has to offer.
The background story:
The Märit (Bernese for 'market') takes place on Tuesday and Saturday morning and is a great option to explore local Swiss food specialities. We discovered that most tourists are left out of the market as tasting samples are not always possible, cash not at hand or the payment system Twint not possible for foreigners. Our little mission is to change that and give you the full market experience.
We are Dani and Roman, originally from Eastern Switzerland, moved here a couple of years ago and fell in love with the variety of the Bernese Märit. We love to explore with our mouth and stomach!

What we do in brief:
Join us for our weekly grocery shopping to explore the market, nibble through the market or replace your whole breakfast if you wish ;-)

What we do in detail:
We start early to avoid queues. We stop at the two largest parts of the market in Münstergasse and on Bundesplatz. And, guess what: We will try some food, hear stories from local farmers / producers, and purchase some samples to share and try (this is of course where your money mainly goes).

What's included:
Your participation fee covers all the costs for the tour and the food we buy. Feel free to additionally purchase the picknick for your hike afterwards or as a tasty souvenir from Switzerland (not chocolate for once). We are happy to find something and work out the payment.
We are curious and simple people and so should you be: Please enjoy the company of the others and make it memorable for all participants. They are also hear to try food from the market, not to eat you.

What to pay attention to:
The Swiss food market consists largely of cheese and dried meat. If you have any dietary restrictions it is not impossible to join, but options are limited. Our market is less than 1% vegan, so as a vegan you will be happier elsewhere (e.g. in a great vegan bakery around the corner).
We share food, so please understand that others may touch your food and we use the same knife to cut cheese and veggies.
We only host up to 4 people at a time. Give us a shout if we are just 1 person short.

To guarantee availability book as soon as possible. Early booking is worth consideration especially if you planning the trip during high season like public holidays or weekends.

This excursion you can cancel with no cost up to 24 hours before the start of the trip. If you cancel it after 24 hours or not show up on the excursion you will still be charged the full price of the activity. Being late on pick-up or departure will be considered as not showing up.
