Day 1: Taipei to Hualien
Meet in Taipei and head down east coast to Hualien. Visit a beautiful pebble-strewn beach with famously clear blue waters before heading inland to Liyu Lake, whose beauty rivals that of Taiwan’s more famous Sun Moon Lake. Cycle and hike around the lake before heading into chilled-out Hualien City, where you’ll spend some time at the art and nature-filled Pine Garden Heritage site. After checking into your hotel, spend the evening eating, watching street performances, and just chilling out in general at the seaside Dongdamen night market.

Day 2: Eastern Coast Beauty: Hualien
After breakfast at your hotel, begin your journey along Taiwan's stunning eastern coastline. Start your day with a delightful culinary experience at a one-of-a-kind Culinary Classroom, where you'll learn how to craft distinctive indigenous cuisines featuring local ingredients and flavors while enjoying the hard work of your own. Visit the Wuhe Tropic of Cancer Marker, an important geographical landmark where you can stand on the boundary between the tropical and subtropical zones. End your day in the charming town of Yuli, where you'll spend the night surrounded by mountain scenery.

Day 3: East Longitudinal Valley Beauty: Hualien to Taitung
Embark on an adventurous day exploring Taiwan's spectacular natural landscapes. Begin with a trek along the renowned Batongguan Trail, one of Taiwan's most famous hiking destinations. Experience the trail's highlight - crossing a magnificent suspension bridge offering breathtaking panoramic views of dramatic canyon landscapes. Enjoy lunch at a carefully selected local private kitchen, where authentic regional cuisine showcases the area's true flavors. In the afternoon, cycle or walk through the famous Chishang Brown Avenue, renowned for its golden rice paddies creating a stunning pastoral landscape that changes beautifully with the seasons.

Day 4: Taitung to Hualien Coastal Route
Experience the artistic and natural highlights of Taiwan's east coast. Start your morning at the Paul Chiang Art Center, where abstract Taiwanese artworks meet stunning coastal scenery - this unique museum showcases the works of one of Taiwan's most renowned abstract painters among international. Visit the iconic Sanxiantai (Three Immortals Platform), where you'll cross the famous eight-arch bridge to reach a small island rich in geological wonders and indigenous legends. Complete your coastal journey at either Jingpu Indigenous Village to experience tribal culture, or Shitiping, known for its unique stepped coastal rock formations. Return to Hualien for your final night.

Day 5: Hualien to Taipei
On the final day of the itinerary, head directly to the hot spring area in the geothermal valley in the mountains of Yilan, where you’ll try cooking food using the hot springs. Afterward, visit the Kavalan Whisky Distillery to explore Taiwan’s unique whisky-making style. Finally, return to Taipei, enjoying the beautiful scenery along the way.
