Begin your adventure with a convenient pickup from your hotel in Moshi and head to the Kilimanjaro National Park Gate (Marangu Gate, 1860m). After completing the necessary gate registration, start your trek through the dense Kilimanjaro rainforest.
Along the way, admire the impressive vegetation and keep an eye out for black and white colobus monkeys, blue monkeys, and various bird species. Learn about Kilimanjaro’s unique flora and fauna from your knowledgeable English-speaking guide.
After a 3–4-hour hike, reach Mandara Hut (2700m), where you can take a well-earned rest and enjoy a packed lunch. Then, follow your guide on a short hike to the Maundi Crater, where you can enjoy wonderful views of Mount Kilimanjaro, Northern Tanzania, and Kenya.
Once you have thoroughly enjoyed the views, return to the Marangu Gate (2-3 hours walking distance), where your vehicle will be waiting for your transfer back to your hotel. On your return journey, enjoy the sunset and reflect on the day’s memories.
