1. Day 1: Machame Gate to Machame Camp
• Elevation: 1,800m to 2,835m (5,905ft to 9,301ft)
• Distance: 11 km / 7 miles

2. Day 2: Machame Camp to Shira Camp

3. Day 3: Shira Camp to Lava Tower to Barranco Camp

4. Day 4: Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp

• Distance: 5 km / 3 miles

• Description: This day involves climbing the Barranco Wall, which is a steep but manageable scramble. The trail then undulates until reaching Karanga Camp.
5. Day 5: Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp

• Distance: 4 km / 2 miles
• Hiking Time: 4-5 hours
• Habitat: Alpine Desert
• Description: A shorter hike to Barafu Camp, the base camp for the summit. Trekkers will rest here before the final ascent.
6. Day 6: Barafu Camp to Uhuru Peak to Mweka Camp
• Elevation: 4,673m to 5,895m to 3,100m (15,331ft to 19,341ft to 10,170ft)
• Distance: 5 km ascent / 12 km descent (3 miles ascent / 7 miles descent)
• Hiking Time: 7-8 hours ascent / 6-8 hours descent
• Habitat: Arctic to Rainforest
• Description: The summit attempt begins around midnight. After reaching Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa, trekkers descend to Mweka Camp for rest.
7. Day 7: Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate
• Elevation: 3,100m to 1,640m (10,170ft to 5,380ft)
• Distance: 10 km / 6 miles
• Hiking Time: 3-4 hours
• Habitat: Rainforest
• Description: A gentle descent through the rainforest to Mweka Gate, where climbers will receive their summit certificates.

Cancellations
This excursion you can cancel with no cost up to 24 hours before the start of the trip. If you cancel it after 24 hours or not show up on the excursion you will still be charged the full price of the activity. Being late on pick-up or departure will be considered as not showing up.
