Day 1 Olpopongi Maasai Village
Your journey begins with an early morning drive to Olpopongi Maasai Village, set against the stunning backdrop of the West Kilimanjaro region. Upon arrival, the Maasai community will greet you with warm smiles, traditional dances, and songs, giving you an authentic taste of their vibrant culture.

You'll explore their fascinating way of life on a guided tour, learning about unique customs, hunting techniques, and survival skills that have been passed down through generations. A visit to the Olpopongi museum provides deeper insight, with displays of traditional tools, artifacts, and exhibits that tell the story of the Maasai’s rich heritage.

For lunch, enjoy a delicious Maasai meal prepared with local ingredients. Later, get hands-on with cultural activities like beadwork, fire-making, and a nature walk guided by Maasai warriors, who will share their knowledge of the land, plants, and wildlife.

As the day ends, settle into your Maasai-style accommodation or camp. In the evening, gather around a crackling campfire under the starry African sky, where you'll hear mesmerizing Maasai stories and folklore—a perfect ending to an unforgettable day.

Day 2 Materuni Waterfalls and Coffee Tour
On this day, drive to Materuni Village, located on the lush slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro. Upon arrival, you’ll be greeted by the welcoming Chagga people, who will guide you through the day’s adventure. Begin with a guided hike through beautiful coffee plantations and tropical landscapes, leading to the stunning Materuni Waterfalls. Reaching the majestic Materuni Waterfalls, which cascade from a height of about 70 meters, you can take in the breathtaking views and, if you wish, cool off with a refreshing swim in the crystal-clear waters.

After the waterfall experience, The Chagga people will walk you through the entire process of coffee cultivation, from the farm to the cup. You’ll get hands-on experience in picking, roasting, and grinding coffee beans, using traditional methods passed down through generations.

After lunch in the village, reflecting on your cultural journey, you’ll head back to your hotel, enriched by the cultural insights and natural beauty you’ve experienced.

Cancellations

This excursion you can cancel with no cost up to 24 hours before the start of the trip. If you cancel it after 24 hours or not show up on the excursion you will still be charged the full price of the activity. Being late on pick-up or departure will be considered as not showing up.
