Climb the slopes of the highest mountain in Africa on a day hike to the first base camp of the Marangu Route. Spot the diverse wildlife and lush rainforest as you make your way to Mandara Hut, and enjoy a delicious lunch with a view of the Maundi Crater.
Leave Arusha early in the morning to depart for Marangu Gate. After completing gate registration, begin your Kilimanjaro Day Hike. Walk along a narrow trail through the rainforest of Kilimanjaro up to Mandara Hut.
Meet mountain climbers descending from the top and have lunch at Mandara Hut. Take a short walk to the Maundi Crater. The views to the East over Taveta and to the Northwest to Mawenzi Peak are stunning on a clear day, making the short hike well worth the effort.
Take photos once arriving at Maundi Crater before descending to the Marangu Gate. Vehicles will be waiting at Marangu Gate to take you back to Arusha.

Cancellations
This excursion you can cancel with no cost up to 24 hours before the start of the trip. If you cancel it after 24 hours or not show up on the excursion you will still be charged the full price of the activity. Being late on pick-up or departure will be considered as not showing up.
