Morning: Begin your journey with a departure from your accommodation in Moshi or Arusha to the Shira Gate, a 2-3 hour drive away. Upon arrival at the gate (2,100 meters), complete registration formalities and meet your guide and porters to start your trek through the lush rainforest, home to diverse wildlife and plant species.

Mid-Morning: Transition from the rainforest to the moorland after about 2.5 hours of hiking. Enjoy stunning views of the landscape and unique flora such as giant heathers and lobelias.

Lunch Break: Stop for a packed lunch at a scenic viewpoint (approximately 3,500 meters) to rest, hydrate, and admire panoramic views of Mount Meru in the distance.

Afternoon: Continue trekking towards Shira Plateau (approximately 3,850 meters) through open moorland with occasional rocky sections. Explore the plateau, offering incredible vistas of Kibo Peak and great photography opportunities
