Description

Starting from Arusha this takes you to the most famous and most exciting safari parks of Tanzania including Tarangire Park and the Crater which is also often referred to as the 8th wonder of the world
Day 1:
Tarangire National Park
Pickup from the hotel in Arusha after breakfast, then drive to Tarangire National Park, enjoy a full-day game drive with a picnic lunch.
The park consists of natural vegetation mainly of Acacia woodland and giant African Baobab trees, with huge swamp areas in the south. Both the river and the swamps act like a magnet for wild animals, during Tanzania's dry season. The Tarangire National Park is reputed to contain some of the largest elephant herds in Africa.
This African National Park is also home to three rare species of animals the Greater Kudu, the Fringed-eared Oryx, as well as a few Ashy Starlings. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 2
Olduvai & Ngorongoro Crater
Immerse yourself in ancient history at the fascinating palaeoanthropological site of Olduvai Gorge, one of the most important in the world. Set between the Ngorongoro Crater and the Serengeti National Park, the gorge makes a good stop if you’re travelling between the two, rewarding visitors with a presentation on its history, an excellent new museum, and beautiful views – as well as the possibility of visiting an active dig. Olduvai Gorge was made famous by paleoanthropologists Louis and Mary Leakey, who conducted numerous digs here in the mid 20th century.

It is globally renowned for the early hominin fossils discovered here, most notably ‘Nutcracker Man’, a new species of hominin that was later classified as Paranthropus boisei. Sites at Olduvai Gorge have also yielded a vast quantity of stone tools, plant and mammal fossils, and the area remains important for research. Next stop Ngorongoro Crater for a full day game drive and the later you will drive to the lodge for an overnight.

Day 3
Empakai & Olmoti Walking Safari
This full-day hike explores the dramatic Empakaai Crater. With a lake on the Crater floor and the entire caldera encircled by a steep, densely forested wall, Empakaai is a scene of vast natural beauty. On clear days the Crater offers views of Ol Doinyo Lengai, Tanzania’s most recently active volcano. The steep slope calls for a degree of fitness, but the walk through the lush forest, with its ancient strangler figs and rich birdlife, is well worth the effort. The trail continues to the lakeshore, where you can view flamingos and various other water birds.
Along your hiking sojourn, while taking in the glorious sights, you are sure to encounter some animals including blue monkeys, buffalo, bush buck, waterbuck, and an extensive array of bird life.

Standing at Empakai Crater’s imposing rim, you can see landmarks, such as the distant fleecy snows of Kilimanjaro far on the eastern side of the Valley, the Great Rift Valley, and Ol Doinyo Lengai volcano. Drop off in Arusha.
