4-DAYS UNFORGETTABLE CLIMB: KILIMANJARO PRIVATE TOUR Day 1: Moshi to Marangu Gate – Trek to Mandara Hut After breakfast at your hotel in Moshi, you will be transferred to Marangu Gate (1,870m/6,135ft), where registration and permits will be arranged. The trek begins through a lush rainforest, with a chance to spot Colobus monkeys and various bird species. The hike is about 8 km (5 miles) and takes 4-5 hours to reach Mandara Hut (2,720m/8,923ft). After settling in, there’s an optional short walk to the Maundi Crater for panoramic views. Dinner and overnight at Mandara Hut. Day 2: Mandara Hut to Horombo Hut After an early breakfast, the trek continues through moorland as you ascend toward Horombo Hut (3,720m/12,204ft). The hike is about 12 km (7 miles) and takes 5-6 hours. As the altitude increases, the landscape transforms, offering stunning views of Mawenzi and Kibo peaks. Upon arrival, you will have time to rest, hydrate, and acclimatize. Dinner and overnight at Horombo Hut. Day 3: Horombo Hut to Kibo Hut – Summit Attempt Today’s trek heads towards Kibo Hut (4,703m/15,430ft) through the saddle desert between Mawenzi and Kibo peaks. The hike is about 10 km (6 miles) and takes 5-6 hours. Upon arrival, you will rest before an early dinner in preparation for the summit attempt. Around midnight, the final ascent to Uhuru Peak (5,895m/19,341ft) begins. Day 4: Summit Attempt – Descend to Marangu Gate The summit push begins at midnight, climbing through the steep Gilman’s Point (5,685m/18,652ft) before reaching Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa. After celebrating at the top, you will descend back to Kibo Hut for a short rest, then continue down to Marangu Gate, covering about 27 km (16 miles) in total. At the gate, you will receive your summit certificate before being transferred back to Moshi, marking the end of your incredible Kilimanjaro adventure.
