Description
Leave Djerba for 2 days in southern Tunisia: the perched Berber village of Chenini, the dunes and hot spring of Ksar Ghilane, and the cave houses of Matmata. Meals included.
Day 1: After being picked up from your hotel in Djerba, you'll head to the mainland towards the south of Tunisia. First stop is Tataouine and its fortified ksour, then you'll climb to Chenini, a Berber village perched on the mountain, with its cave dwellings and white mosque. After lunch, the journey continues to Ksar Ghilane, an isolated oasis on the edge of the Grand Erg Oriental. You can enjoy a swim in the natural hot spring and, if you wish, a dromedary ride in the dunes at sunset, offered for an additional fee to be paid on site. Dinner and overnight at the camp, under the stars of the Sahara.
Day 2: After breakfast facing the dunes, you will head back to Douz, known as the gate of the Sahara, with a stop in its palm grove. You will then reach Matmata and its lunar landscape of craters, where you will visit the famous troglodyte houses carved into the rock. Lunch on site before the return trip to Djerba in the late afternoon, with drop-off at your hotel.

This excursion you can cancel with no cost up to 24 hours before the start of the trip. If you cancel it after 24 hours or not show up on the excursion you will still be charged the full price of the activity. Being late on pick-up or departure will be considered as not showing up.
