Discover Tunisia’s ancient heritage before continuing to Matmata, famous for its traditional underground dwellings carved into the earth. Explore this unique architecture and visit Sidi Idriss, the renowned troglodyte hotel associated with Star Wars filming in Tunisia.
Continue to Les Dunes Insolites desert camp in Douz, where you can immerse yourself in the peaceful atmosphere of the Sahara. Take time to admire the desert scenery, enjoy the sunset and capture memorable photographs. Optional desert activities, including camel rides, sandboarding and quad biking, may be available at an additional charge, depending on the selected option and local availability.
At the camp, discover the traditional preparation of Mella, a distinctive desert bread cooked beneath hot sand and embers. Enjoy a delicious traditional Tunisian dinner, followed by music, entertainment and campfire activities. Experience the warmth of desert hospitality before spending the night in the Saharan surroundings.
After breakfast the following morning, continue to Chott El Jerid, one of southern Tunisia’s most remarkable natural landscapes. Admire its vast salt plains, changing colors and striking scenery, which can vary according to weather and seasonal conditions.
You can then choose between two experiences. With the optional 4x4 excursion, explore Chott El Gharsa, visit Ong Jmel, a famous Star Wars filming location, and discover Chebika, a mountain oasis featuring palm trees, natural springs and dramatic rocky landscapes. This excursion is available at an additional charge. Travelers who do not select the 4x4 option will enjoy free time in Tozeur, allowing them to relax, explore the local atmosphere or discover the city at their own pace, according to the confirmed arrangements.
Continue to Kairouan for a cultural stop featuring an exterior visit, a guided cultural experience, a demonstration of traditional carpet craftsmanship and a tasting of local makroudh accompanied by Tunisian green tea. Enjoy free time at fixed-price shops to discover local handicrafts and products before beginning the return journey to your selected drop-off location.
