You will start your Sun Route tour boarding the bus at 6:30 AM either in Cusco or Puno bus station. An hour later, you will arrive in Andahuaylillas, a charming Andean town where you will explore the Church of San Pedro Apóstol, famously known as the "Sistine Chapel of America."
Continuing the journey, you will reach the archaeological site of Racchi, uncovering the remnants of the ancient temple dedicated to the god Wiracocha. During your visit, you will unravel how this Andean deity was revered and what legacy has endured from this sacred worship, especially after the arrival of the Spaniards.
Following this stop, a break in the town of Sicuani awaits you, offering a delicious buffet lunch to recharge your energy for the rest of the journey. Energized, you will head to the Abra La Raya pass, an impressive mountain pass located over 14,100 feet (4,300 meter) above sea level.
Next, you will visit the Pukara Lithic Museum, where you will learn about the origins of Andean civilization in the highlands. Finally, your Sun Route tour will conclude at the Puno bus station, arriving around 5:30 PM.
