Description

Walk in the footsteps of the historic figures that gave birth to America. Learn about the pilgrims, from their first steps on the shore of Plymouth to the establishment of the colonies.
Departing from your Boston hotel, you will journey into the footsteps of history when you pass into Marshfield, former home of Daniel Webster, with a spectacular view of the North River estuary. Continuing through the Brant Rock beach and the historic Winslow House built in 1699, you’ll proceed to the even older Town of Duxbury, settled by Pilgrims in 1627. Traveling along historic backroads and past historic homes of a bygone era, your guide will stop so you can view the homestead of Mayflower pilgrims John and Priscilla Alden.

Next is a stop at the King Caesar estate, built in 1809, the former home of the Weston family, who were wealthy shipbuilders and shipping magnates of the 1800s. Take in the sights of well-preserved sea captain homes as your guide skirts along Duxbury Bay on Washington Street. You will explore the oldest maintained cemetery in America, to remember the many of the brave pilgrims buried there.

Onwards to “Mainstreet USA,” your guide will stop at The Pilgrim Hall Museum. There you will view original artifacts and furnishings of the Pilgrims, such as the bassinet of the first pilgrim born in America. Discover what it was like to travel across the Atlantic as you tour the Mayflower II, an exact replica of the original 180-ton Mayflower that sailed from England in 1958.

Take a picture of a lifetime at Plymouth Rock, where those brave souls landed, seeking to establish a tenuous foothold in the New World. After many other stops throughout Plymouth and the New England Seacoast, relax and enjoy a comfortable trip back to your hotel carrying memories of a lifetime.
