Description

Discover the Highlands' romance, with castles, lochs, and historic towns full of dramatic tales — this is the Scotland you’ve imagined.
We leave Glasgow behind and make our way to Loch Lomond and The Trossachs. The flat Lowlands soon rise into rugged hills, wooded glens, and the wide, sparkling waters of Loch Lomond. Ringed by mountains and scattered with islands, the loch has inspired artists for centuries. Our first stop is a Highland village on its shore, with quaint houses and sweeping views. Look out for Ben Lomond towering above.

As we head west, the landscape grows bolder. We pass through the Arrochar Alps and pause at the ‘Rest and Be Thankful’ viewpoint, before reaching Inveraray. Set on Loch Fyne, this pretty town is known for its whitewashed streets and Georgian style. Take time to explore the harbor or catch sight of Inveraray Castle. Then we follow Loch Awe to Kilchurn Castle for a photo stop, a stunning ruin on the water once home to Clan Campbell.

On to Oban, the Gateway to the Isles, where you’ll have free time for lunch. Once ruled by rival clans, the town is now famed for seafood straight from the boats. Afterward, we head north past Castle Stalker to Glencoe, with its steep slopes and deep history. You'll stop for photos and hear the story of the massacre that took place here centuries ago. Next, we cross Rannoch Moor, a vast, wild stretch of Highland landscape, before reaching Inveruglas on Loch Lomond’s western shore.

After a short pause, we return through Loch Lomond and The Trossachs, a region known for its songs and legends. Slowly, the Highlands give way to the Lowlands as we return to Glasgow.
