Duration: 02:30 hours

Description

Enjoy a traditional Vietnamese home-cooked meal hosted by a single mother in Da Nang. Learn about the balance of yin and yang in Vietnamese cuisine, Table Etiquette & Family Rituals.
Every experience directly supports a woman from the Empowerment Plan Program of Catalyst for Change Vietnam — a single mother who is reclaiming her life and income through culinary skills and storytelling. By joining this experience, you are supporting financial independence and dignity, helping preserve culinary heritage
and empowering a mother to teach, share, and thrive.

Step into a real Vietnamese home and share a meal that reflects not just flavor, but history, healing, and connection. Enjoy a deeply personal, educational, and nourishing journey into daily Vietnamese family meals, hosted by women rebuilding their lives through food.

Enjoy a true Vietnamese home meal — the kind locals eat daily — including steamed rice, savory protein like caramelized fish or braised tofu, light seasonal soup, boiled or stir-fried local greens with garlic, signature dipping sauce, and fresh seasonal fruits or cakes and drinks.

Learn how Vietnamese mothers balance âm - dương (yin and yang) in food to promote health and harmony. Discover why seafood is “cooling” and needs ginger, how soups help digestion and energy, and why no food stands alone — it’s always in relation to the others.

Learn the unspoken beauty of Vietnamese meal culture, including how to sit, serve, and share at the table, the role of elders, children, and guests, and why eating is more about bonding than indulgence. Observe, participate, and ask questions in a respectful and warm atmosphere.
