Description

Experience the unique thrill of walking on the active craters of Etna at an altitude of over 3300 meters! A once-in-a-lifetime adventure on the roof of Sicily! Travel the first part by 4x4 and then on foot.
Meeting point at Piano Provenzana Etna Nord. After a briefing and equipment check, we will travel in a special 4x4 off-road vehicle to an altitude of 2900 meters, where the trekking will begin. The volcanic area, the beautiful landscape, the view of northern and eastern Sicily, the Aeolian Islands, and the Calabrian coast will make the climb even more exciting. We are on the wildest and least known side of Etna, far from the usual tourist tours. Crossing lava fields, our trekking will take us to the summit area of the highest active volcano in Europe. The duration of the stay always depends on volcanic activity and weather conditions. After admiring the impressive view of the summit area, we will begin our descent through the sand gullies that will lead us to the Pizzi Deneri area, where you can enjoy a majestic view of the Valle del Bove. We will return to the starting point at Piano Provenzana in 4x4 off-road vehicles.

In accordance with the laws governing trekking in the summit area of Mount Etna, it is important to inform our customers that our trekking may be modified depending on the volcanic activity of Etna.

  • Cable car ticket or 4x4 bus return ticket (50 EUR). The return ticket for the 4x4 Unimog requires a mandatory supplement of 50 EUR per person, to be paid on site. This supplement is necessary for the return trip from the starting point at Piano Provenzana up to 2900m.

When should I book?

To guarantee availability book as soon as possible. Early booking is worth consideration especially if you planning the trip during high season like public holidays or weekends.


Cancellations

This excursion you can cancel with no cost up to 24 hours before the start of the trip. If you cancel it after 24 hours or not show up on the excursion you will still be charged the full price of the activity. Being late on pick-up or departure will be considered as not showing up.
