Ready to dive into the heart of the Vatican on an unforgettable guided adventure and skip the long lines during the grand Jubilee Year? Take this chance to experience St. Peter’s Basilica like never before, with pre-booked tickets that let you breeze past the crowds and step straight into history.
Your journey kicks off in St. Peter’s Square, where your expert guide will greet you. Enter through a special timed entrance and begin your exploration with a descent into the Vatican Grottoes, also known as the Papal Crypts—where popes and Church legends rest. As you walk past these sacred tombs, your guide will reveal fascinating stories about the influential figures who shaped Christianity.
After uncovering the secrets of the grottoes, head back up to the Basilica’s main level and be awestruck by the grandeur of St. Peter’s Basilica. Stand beneath the iconic Cupola, designed by Michelangelo, and take in its immense height and sheer beauty.
Next, prepare to be amazed by Bernini’s Baldachin, the towering canopy that sits above St. Peter’s Tomb, with its intricate details sure to leave you speechless.
Then, don’t miss the Holy Door, which only opens once every 25 years. This is your rare opportunity to experience St. Peter’s Basilica in a way few others ever will. Your expert guide will immerse you in the rich history of the Papal States and the Jubilee Year, bringing its timeless traditions to life.
Finally, be moved by Michelangelo’s Pietà, a stunning sculpture created when he was just 24. The serene beauty of Mary holding Jesus’ body is a poignant symbol of grace and suffering that resonates through the ages.
When your express tour concludes, take the time to explore St. Peter’s Basilica at your own pace. Absorb every detail, from the awe-inspiring architecture to the rich history, and experience this holy site like never before.
