Most tastings start with a bottle. This one starts with a barrel. You'll stand in the winery with a glass of Barossa Shiraz drawn directly from the oak it's maturing in, poured by the person who made it.

Your host: Adam, "The Duke"

Adam is Gibson's vintage winemaker, and he leads the experience himself. Rather than a recited script, you get the winemaker's view of how Gibson builds a wine: layering flavour from different vineyard sites, working with "fractions", and choosing oak with care. Tasting from the barrel shows you what each of those decisions does to the wine in the glass.
