The New Year's Eve Opera Gala is wild operatic celebration with a distinctively Australian flavour. Sydney’s world-famous New Year’s Eve fireworks are the cherry on top. This is a must-see if you love big voices, big laughs and fireworks – both dramatic and literal.

The performance begins at 7:45 PM and ends around 10:30 PM. The performance lasts approximately 2 hours with an intermission for the 9pm fireworks. We strongly recommend you add the Midnight Party to their ticket for the best experience. The Midnight Party provides the best fireworks view from the Northern Foyers of the Sydney Opera House. Please be advised that balcony space is first-come, first-served and cannot be guaranteed; fireworks views are guaranteed, but outdoor/balcony space is not.
All bags will be checked at venue entry points. All items larger than an A4 sheet of paper (21cm x 30cm) must be cloaked. The cloakroom is free.
Photography, sound recording, or any kind of filming is not permitted during the performance but you're welcome to take photos before and after the performance and at interval.
Everyone visiting the Sydney Opera House on New Years Eve is strongly encouraged to plan and allow extra travel time.
