Addis Ababa: 14-Day National Parks and Wildlife Tour

Explore Ethiopia's national parks on a 14-day tour from Addis Ababa. Discover diverse wildlife, witness Africa’s second-largest antelope migration, and experience local cultures.
Day 1: Addis Ababa

Arrive at Bole International Airport and meet your guide. Take an optional city tour of Addis Ababa before spending the night in the city.

Day 2-4: Maze National Park

Drive towards the savanna grassland of Maze National Park. Explore the park and spot wildlife such as Swayne’s hartebeest, lions, warthogs, oribi, Bohor red buck, buffalo, bushbuck, waterbuck, greater kudu, lesser kudu, bush pig, onibus baboon, vervet monkey, leopards, wild cats, and serval cats. Spend the night camping in Maze National Park.

Day 5: Sodo City

Explore the park further before driving to Sodo City. Spend the night in a hotel in Sodo.

Day 6-7: Cheberara Churchura National Park

Drive to Cheberara Churchura National Park. Spot wildlife such as African elephants, hippopotamuses, buffalo, lions, and leopards. Marvel at the tall savanna grassland. Spend the night in a tented camp in Cheberara Churchura National Park.

Day 8: Jima City

Explore the park further before driving to Jima City. Spend the night in a hotel in Jima.

Day 9-11: Gambela National Park

Drive to Gambela and explore Gambela National Park. Visit between mid-February and June to witness Africa’s second-largest antelope migration, with an estimated 1.2 million white-eared/tailed kob crossing into Ethiopia from South Sudan.

If chance favors, spot the endangered Nubian giraffe. Look out for Nile lechwe, Lelwel hartebeest, tiang, lions, leopards, buffalo, elephants, and the largely terrestrial patas monkey. The Shoebill Bird also shelters here. Visit Nuer and Agnuak Tribes Villages. Spend the night in a tented camp in Gambela National Park.

Day 12: Gambela City

Return to Gambela City from the park. Spend the night in a hotel in Gambela.

Day 13: Addis Ababa

Fly to Addis Ababa. Spend the night in a hotel in Addis Ababa.

Day 14: Departure

Depart from Addis Ababa at your preferred time, marking the end of your tour.
