Starting Point: National Museum of Ethiopia (Duration: 15 minutes)

Begin your walk at the National Museum of Ethiopia, located on King George VI Street. This museum is home to the famous fossil “Lucy” (Australopithecus afarensis), a key archaeological discovery. It also houses exhibits of ancient Ethiopian artifacts, historical art, and royal regalia.


Walk to: Holy Trinity Cathedral (Duration: 10 minutes)

After the museum, head southeast to the Holy Trinity Cathedral (about a 10-minute walk). This is one of the most important and beautiful churches in Ethiopia, with stunning stained-glass windows and a rich history, including being the burial place of many prominent figures such as Emperor Haile Selassie.


Walk to: Piazza (Duration: 10 minutes)

After visiting the cathedral, take a short 10-minute walk toward Piazza, the heart of the city's commercial district. Piazza is full of vibrant local markets, shops, and restaurants where you can experience Addis Ababa’s lively street culture. If you have time, stop at a café to try an Ethiopian coffee.


Walk to: Menelik II Square (Duration: 10 minutes)

Head west to Menelik II Square, a prominent landmark in Addis Ababa. This square is dedicated to Emperor Menelik II, who was instrumental in Ethiopia's victory over Italy in the Battle of Adwa in 1896. It's also a great spot to see the architecture of the city and enjoy the bustling atmosphere.


Walk to: Addis Ababa University & Surrounding Green Spaces (Duration: 10 minutes)

If you still have time, take a brief walk to the Addis Ababa University campus, located just nearby. You can stroll through the university grounds, which offer a calm and peaceful environment, and get a glimpse of the famous Gada System Tree—an important symbol of Ethiopian governance and culture.
