Begin your adventure at the base of Morro da Urca or Morro da Babilônia, two of Rio's most iconic climbing locations. Meet your certified AGUIPERJ instructor and receive a comprehensive safety briefing and introduction to all climbing equipment including harnesses, ropes, carabiners, and helmets.

Learn all concepts directly on the rock and immediately have the opportunity to practice them. Your expert instructor will guide you through essential climbing knots (including the figure-8), belaying techniques, basic rappelling systems, and fundamental movement skills. You'll also learn proper climbing communication, terminology, and sport ethics.

Throughout the 3-4 hour lesson, climb outdoors up to 30 meters on top-rope protected routes, gaining confidence with each ascent. The stunning natural setting of Urca provides not only world-class climbing but also breathtaking panoramic views of Guanabara Bay, Sugarloaf Mountain, Copacabana Beach, and the iconic Christ the Redeemer statue.

Your instructor will ensure you feel safe and supported throughout the entire experience, adjusting the difficulty level to match your comfort and abilities. By the end of the lesson, you'll have a solid foundation in rock climbing fundamentals and the confidence to continue your climbing journey.
